You can't get grabbed by the short hairs if you keep 'em shaved

Metaphorically, that means you must think like an insurance actuary and minimize your risk and exposure to loss. You don't need those kind of worries tugging at you, pulling you every which way, and maybe eventually dragging you down. Putting yourself through that is just nuts.

But shaving isn't most people's idea of a plum assignment. Any gambler will tell you to be very careful whenever ‘betting all the marbles’. After all, sticks and stones can break your bones but sloppy razor handling can ruin your life forever. You'd better have a steady hand and the patience to do it right as long as you remember this is the one time you don't want to do a bang-up job.

Every once in a while life will try to grab you by the short hairs. But if if there's nothing to grab then it's really just an unintentional reach-around. And let's be honest, what man couldn't hondle the occasional fondle? (From a brunette or a blondle! Let us sit back and pondle.)
