I bought my TdF fiber last September. It was the Streets of Laredo festival colorway from Dragonfly Fibers that benefited a charity for refugees at the border. I thought it was a bit on the wild side but it was for a good cause so I brought it home with thoughts of this year's Tour. Little did I know at that time what a nightmare this summer would turn out to be. Who would have thought. Steven King maybe.
I have to say that the fiber is.....odd. It's Polwarth and silk and it's very raggedy. I've never seen this in a commercially processed braid before. There were loose bits everywhere.
The singles have a very tweedy look and a very tweedy feel. It's not very soft for Polwarth which is strange.
My other TdF plan for this year was to finish up Trinidad, the California Red fleece I washed and carded last year. I just can't bring myself to do it in this unholy remodeling mess. There is something about all that loose fiber flying around in my boxes of foodstuff. I think I'll have to stick to the tamer commercial stuff for the duration.
