My Experience with Maybelline Face Studio Master Contour Face Contouring Kit Light to Medium:
I was searching for an easy to carry kit so that while travelling I do not need to carry all the individual makeup items. After searching through various items I decided to go with Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Contour Kit as makeup products from Maybelline are best for every day use and affordable too. This kit has a contour powder, a blush and a highlighter. It comes in a black plastic palette with a transparent lid.
The colors are placed beautifully, slightly slanted on one side (rhombus shape). It also comes with an angular brush, which is not of much use, but I think brushes in such kits are generally like this. So it doesn’t bother me. It has a powder like texture and does not feel cakey, but the staying power is less. If you want your makeup to stay all day, you can use a cream based blush, highlighter or contour stick and apply this powder on top of it. This trick will definitely increase the longevity.
Contour Powder:
This powder is on average side as it is very less pigmented and requires a lot of build up to show up on the face. I have also used the Medium to deep Kit and the contour powder in that kit is on the darker side and better even for fair skin people. This is a matte powder and good if you want a natural look at office/college. I think the angular brush inside the kit cannot be used for applying anything other than contour.
Blush:
It is a light pink shade and great for wearing it every day. It looks very natural, with perfect pigmentation which can be build up if required. It is a matte powder and has no shimmer in it as compared to the Medium to Deep kit that has a lot of shimmer/glitter which I personally don’t like. For blush, I would always go for light to medium shade kit.
Highlighter:
This is champagne shade highlighter. This gives a natural glow to the face and does not go overboard. Great for everyday use but if you specifically want it for parties then I would recommend to topping this highlighter powder on some other cream based or stick highlighter.
Overall:
It is a good option for regular use or if you want a very subtle makeup, but again, I think there are better options available in the market.
